When a Garage Becomes a Tomb
A car enthusiast was telling a friend about his "garage" which stored several vehicles over an indefinite time.

"That's not a garage!" his friend replied, "Cars come OUT of a garage."

Years ago an evangelist named Billy Sunday said, "Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to a garage makes you an automobile" Mr. Sunday might agree that the test of a garage is what comes OUT of it, not what goes in.

Hard to imagine but it might be that the best garages are the empty ones. All cars that are brought in are fixed and sent back out on the road.

A couple of churches I know are empty one Sunday a month. They have worship at a mission site and spend the day building a house for Habitat for Humanity or working at a shelter feeding the homeless.

As followers of Christ, it seems strangely fitting to have empty churches, after all, our greatest joy was finding an empty tomb; for we know that living saviors come out of a tomb.
Running on Empty

As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man, dressed in a white robe, sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him, just as he told you." - Mark 16:5-7
