December Akron Roundtable Prayer

Our Akron Roundtable speaker was Dr. Mody Al-Khalaf, Director, of Social and Cultural Affairs, Cultural Mission of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Al-Khalaf spoke on “Education and Development in Saudi Arabia: Women as Agents of Future Change”

Here's the prayer I offered:

As-salamu a'laikum
Peace Be Upon You All
Peace between Men and Women,
Peace among Nations and Nationalities,
Peace within the family of God

May our words and actions
always bring peace closer to our world
so that our children will be closer to each other.
Amen

Akron Roundtable Prayer

Our Akron Roundtable speaker was Tina Tchen, Executive Director of the White House Council on Women and Girls, which was created by President Obama in March 2009 to ensure that all parts of the federal government are addressing the needs of women and girls.

Here's the prayer I offered:

Creator of women and men,
women hold up half the sky.
May the world nurture girls
and support women
so they will lift us all higher.

Bless our time together here
so we may bless others
when we return to
home, school, work and community.

Amen.
